Meaning of Necessary Parties

Those whose rights are so connected with the claims of the litigants that no relief can be granted without infringing on those rights. Such persons must necessarily be made parties to any litigation . See Pennsylvania Fish commission v Pleasant township , Pa. commonwealth , 338 A.2d 756. Sometimes such parties are referred to as indispensable parties , i.e., those whose interest in the subject matter of the action is such that if they are not joined, a complete and efficient determination of the rights, equities and liabilities of the other parties is not possible.
