Meaning of Mutuality
In order that a contract may be valid in law, there should be consensus ad idem, namely , that both parties to the transaction must know what the other is to do. This is called mutuality of assent . The requirement in a contract that each party to it is bound to do something under the contract is also known as mutuality. In general sense, reciprocation, interchange.
