Meaning of Mechanic’s Lien
A mechanic ‘s lien was no; recognized in common law and is solely the creature of statute . A claim created by law to secure priority of payment of the price and value of work performed and materials furnished in erecting or altering a building or other structure and attaches thereto and to the land upon which it is erected.
