Compensation means indemnification, payment of damages , making amends, giving an equivalent or substitute of equal value , that which is necessary to restore an injured party to his former position.In construing the meaning of the word compensation, one must take into consideration the statute in question as well as rules of interpretation relating to intent of legislature.
