Meaning of Trading Stamps

A coupon or a memorandum in writing given by a merchant to a cash paying customer, which memorandum or coupon expresses in money value a small percentage of the price of goods bought and paid for by the customer entitling the holder thereof, after generally accumulating a number of such memoranda or coupons , to redeem the same for other goods of the merchant or goods of some other person or trading company that has undertaken to redeem the coupons. See ex parte Drexel, 147 Cal. 763, 82 P. 429.
