Meaning of Boarder
A person who receives regular meals, or meals and lodging for payment made, under an express contract ; differs from a guest at an inn or hotel in that such guests are not bound by any express contract to have their regular meals at the inn or hotel.
Boarder Alternative Definition
One who, by a special contract, obtains food, with or without lodging, in the house of another. To be distinguished from a guest (q.v.) Story, Bailm. § 477; 26 Vt. 343; 26 Ala. (N. S.) 371; 7 Cush. (Mass.) 417.
