Meaning of Notice Of Dishonor
In relation to bills of exchange and negotiable instruments, given by or on behalf of the holder or any party who has himself received notice or any other party who can be compelled to pay the instrument to the maker , the endorser and any other person who may be liable on the instrument of the fact of dishonor of the instrument. Such a notice may be given in any reasonable manner, may be oral or written, and in any terms which identify the instrument and state that it has been dishonored. See U. C. C. §3-508.
Notice Of Dishonor Alternative Definition
A notice given to a drawer or indorser of a bill, or an indorser of a negotiable note, by a subsequent party, that it has been dishonored either by nonacceptance in the case of a bill, or by nonpayment in the case of an accepted bill or a note.
