Meaning of Steal, Stealing

Apart from statutory definitions, the term denotes the taking or appropriating of property of another without right or leave and with intent to make use of it Wrongfully . People v Neiss, 401 N. Y.S.2d 422, 92 Misc.2d 839. The felonious taking and carrying away of the personal goods of another. See state v Kobylasz, 242 Iowa 1161, 47 N. W.2d 167. The criminal taking of personal property of another with intent to deprive the owner permanently of the use of same. See commonwealth v Engle- man, 336 Mass. 66, 142 N.E.2d406.
