Meaning of Policy Of Insurance
A contract of insurance whereby for a stipulated consideration , one party , namely , the insurer, undertakes to indemnify the other , namely, the insured, against damage or loss, on a certain subject , by certain perils. The actual instrument embodying the contract is known as the policy of insurance. See Insurance.
