Meaning of Merchantable, Merchantability
In the sale of goods there is said to be an implied warranty of merchantability which is that the thing sold is reasonably fit for general purpose for which it is manufactured and sold; that it will conform to ordinary standards and will be of the same average grade, quality and value as similar goods sold under similar circumstances. See Jones v Abriani, (Ind.App.) 350 N. E.2d 635.
