Not complete ; lacking in some essential; defective; not enforceable in law. An obligation is said to be an imperfect obligation when it is in the nature of a moral or charitable or similar obligation which cannot be enforced by law. Edward v Kearzey, 96 U.S. 595,24 L.Ed. 793.
