Meaning of Enact
To establish by decree or by law. The enacting clause of a legislative act is the preliminary expression such as be it enacted, or be it resolved, which serves to identify the act of legislation as of that legislative body; to afford evidence of its legislative statutory nature.
Enact Alternative Definition
To establish by law; to perform or effect; to decree. The usual formula in making laws is, “Be it enacted.”
