Traditional meaning of usque ad in English (with some legal use of this latin concept in England and the United States in the XIX Century) [1]: (in Latin) As far as. Usque ad medium filum aquae, coelum, inferos: as far as the middle thread of the stream, the heavens, the centre of the earth.
