Meaning of Unenforceable

That which cannot be enforce in a court. A contract is said to be unenforceable when it cannot form the basis of an action, although in other respects it may be a valid contract, such as an agreement for the sale of land which is required to be in writing by the Statutes of Fraud; and where it is not in writing, then it is unenforceable.
