Meaning of Riparian Owner, Riparian Proprietor

In its strict sense, the term denotes one who owns land on the banks of a river , stream or a small pond. As distinctive from littoral owner or proprietor who owns land on the shores of a sea or lake, although the term riparian is used co-extensively with littoral. See alien v Potter, 316 N.
