Meaning of Privy Council
In England, the principal council of the crown , consisting of such persons as are nominated by the Crown to the office . The technical function of the Privy Council is to advise the Crown on affairs of state , although in practise such duty is fulfilled by a select body called the cabinet who are members of the parliament . The judicial committee of the Privy Council in England acts as a court of ultimate appeal in various cases.
