International Undertaking On Plant Genetic Resources

International Undertaking on Plant Genetic Resources in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, international undertaking on plant genetic resources is: adopted by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) in 1983. The objective of the Undertaking is to ensure that plant genetic resources of economic and/or social interest, particularly for agriculture, will be explored, preserved, evaluated and made available for plant breeding and scientific purposes.
