The following is a definition of International Safety Management Code (Ism Code), produced by Tetley, in the context of admiralty law: The International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (commonly called the “ISM Code”) was originally the annex to Resolution No. A.741(18), adopted by the IMO Assembly at its Eighteenth Session on November 4, 1993, but has now become Annex IX to the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention, (see this legal term in this law dictionary).
