A house where persons resort for criminal or immoral purposes, a house of ill-fame, a bawdy house.

Disorderly House Alternative Definition

In criminal law. A house the inmates of which behave so badly as to become a nuisance to the neighborhood. One kept in such a way as to disturb or scandalize the public generally, or the inhabitants of a particular neighborhood, or the passers by. 93 W. C. 608. The term has a wide meaning, and includes bawdy houses, gambling houses, and the like. A place kept for general resort for purposes injurious to the public morals or safety is a “disorderly house,” in the legal sense, though there be no noise or disorder. 48 Ark. 60; 30 N. J. Law, 104; 120 Mass. 356; 83N. Y. 587.
