Definition of Deskilling

The Canada social science dictionary [1] provides the following meaning of Deskilling: The process by which division of labour and technological development has led to the reduction of the scope of an individual’s work to one, or a few, specialized tasks. Work is fragmented, and individuals lose the integrated skills and comprehensive knowledge of the crafts persons.
