Meaning of Comparable

Similar; similarly circumstanced or arising out of similar situations. The terms comparable and compatability are used in condemnation cases in relation to ascertaining the value of property expropriated. In this context, market value of the expropriated property is to be decided by comparison of recent sales of similar property in the vicinity as the property expropriated.
