Blunderbus

What does Blunderbus mean in American Law?

The definition of Blunderbus in the law of the United States, as defined by the lexicographer Arthur Leff in his legal dictionary is:

An old non-rifled firearm, usable only at short range because it so scattered its load on firing. The term is used by lawyers to deride legal writing (complaint, brief, etc.) more notable for energy than aim, especially one that seeks to cover everything rather than concentrating on what is actually important.
