Definition of Xenophobia

The Canada social science dictionary [1] provides the following meaning of Xenophobia: An individual’s irrational and obsessive hatred of people perceived as different and foreign. Related to the concepts of racism and ethnocentrism. All of these can be overcome by the study of the social sciences and coming to appreciate the ideas of culture and social structure as tools for understanding ourselves and others.
