World Commission on Environment and Development in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, world commission on environment and development is: established in 1983 by the United Nations General Assembly to work out an action plan for long-term environmental strategies and to strike a balance between the aims of development and the protection of natural resources. The entries on trade policy are here. It was chaired by Gro Harlem Brundtland, Prime Minister of Norway. The Commission ™s report, Our Common Future, was completed in 1987. The final chapter of the report called for an international conference to review progress and to create a follow-up structure. This became the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development.[1]
