The following is a definition of “Uberrimae Fidei”, produced by Tetley, in the context of admiralty law: “utmost good faith”, referring to the basic principle of insurance, requiring the assured and his broker to disclose and truly represent every material circumstance to the underwriter before acceptance of the risk.
