Trade harassment in Global Commerce Policy
In this regard, a definition of this issue is as follows: the use of overt and covert domestic measures as a device to make the import of products intentionally difficult. The entries on trade policy in the Encyclopedia are here. Overt measures include the aggressive use of anti-dumping measures, safeguards actions or countervailing duties. Sometimes the mere threat of such an action is sufficient to cause importers to reduce or stop purchases from abroad. The entries on trade policy are here.
