Torquay Tariff Conference in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, torquay tariff conference is: held at Torquay, United Kingdom, from September 1950 to April 1951. The work program consisted of accession negotiations with six countries (Austria, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Korea, Peru, Philippines and Turkey) as well as some tariff negotiations among the participants themselves. In the end, Korea acceded to the GATT only in 1967 and the Philippines in 1979.[1]
