The Central American Integration System, created through the Protocol of Tegucigalpa adopted by Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama on 13 December 1991. SICA’s fundamental objective is to bring about the integration of Central America so that it will constitute a region of peace, freedom, democracy and development.
