Meaning of Reconvention
In civil law , it is a demand that a defendant in a suit is permitted to ingraft on the main action as a crossdemand.
Reconvention Alternative Definition
In the Civil Law. A species of cross bill. Story, Eq. PI. §402. In Louisiana and Texas. A plea in the nature of set-off, by which any matter connected with or incident to the subject of the main action may be asserted. See 11 La. 309; 5 Tex. 502.
