Positive Comity
Positive comity in Global Commerce Policy
In this regard, positive comity is: a term used in the administration of competition policy. The entries on trade policy are here. It means that a country may, under the rules of a relevant bilateral arrangement, request the other country to initiate an action under the competition laws of that country. This can result in action that may otherwise not have been taken by the authorities of the other country. GATS Article IX (Business Practices) incorporates the principle of positive comity.
