Official development assistance in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, official development assistance is: defined by the Development Assistance Committee of the OECD as grants or loans by its members to a defined list of developing countries. To qualify as official development assistance, activities must be (a) undertaken by the official sector of the donor country, (b) aimed mainly at the promotion of economic development and welfare, and (c) at concessional financial terms. Technical cooperation activities are included, but grants, loans and credits for military purposes do not qualify.[1]
