Nonresident Alien Definition (in the Accounting Vocabulary)

The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants offers the following definition of Nonresident Alien in a way that is easy for anybody to understand: Any citizen that is not a resident or citizen of the United States. Income of such individuals is subject to taxation if it is effectively connected with a United States trade or business.
