New Transatlantic Agenda in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, new transatlantic agenda is: endorsed on 3 December 1995 at a European Union-United States summit in Madrid. The entries on trade policy are here. Objective III of its four objectives deals with strengthening the world trading system and achieving closer economic cooperation. The entries on trade policy are here. It aims at (a) moves to ensure that the WTO works as well as intended and cooperation on the new trade issues, (b) efforts to achieve further bilateral reduction, or elimination, of tariffs in industrial products and to accelerate reductions due under the Uruguay Round, and (c) concrete steps to remove regulatory and other obstacles to transatlantic trade through the creation of the New Transatlantic Marketplace. The other three objectives are promoting peace, development and democracy around the world, responding to global challenges, and building bridges across the Atlantic.
