New Partnership for Africa’s Development in Global Commerce Policy
In this regard, new partnership for africa’s development is: NEPAD. The entries on trade policy are here. Adopted by African leaders at Abuja on 23 October 2001. The entries on trade policy are here. It contains, among other chapters, a program of action for achieving sustainable development in the twenty-first century with the long-term objectives of (a) eradicating poverty in Africa and to place African countries on a apath of sustainable growth and development to halt the marginalization of Africa in the globalization process and (b) to promote the role of women in all activities. The entries on trade policy in the Encyclopedia are here. One of the means identified by the program of action to reach these goals is the market access initiative. This envisages diversification of production in African economies, improving the performance of the mining sector, increasing the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector, developing tourism, promotion of a sound environment for private-sector activities, promotion of African exports, enhanced participation in the world trading system and efforts to improve access to the markets of industrialized countries through the removal of their non-tariff barriers.
