This assessment examines how different actors in the election process, in particular candidates, are treated in the media. Media monitoring is usually conducted by an election authority, national or international observers and by civil society. It is also intended to promote the neutrality of the media and equal treatment of candidates, in terms of coverage, airtime, etc.
