Meaning of Jacitation

Boasting of something which is false . Technically a false pretention to marriage. A jacitation suit is an action by which a plaintiff who is in actual possession of realty as owner seeks to protect his possession against another who, plaintiff alleges, is slandering his title . See Bossier’s Heirs v Jackson, 38 So. 525, 114 La. 707. Also involuntary muscular movement. Leman v Manhattan Life Ins. Co., 15 So. 388, 46 La.Ann. 1189.
