Meaning of Harmonization of Laws
In the context of Europe, and according to A Dictionary of Law, the following is a definition of Harmonization of Laws : The process by which member states of the EU make changes in their national laws, in accordance with *Community legislation, to produce uniformity, particularly relating to commercial matters of common interest. The Council of the European Union has, for example, issued directives on the harmonization of company law and of units of measurement.
