A scheme whereby gifts or premiums are distributed among the patrons of a business establishment, either the value of the premium, or the persons who shall receive the same, being determined by chance. See 165 Mass. 146; 73 Md. 529; 56 N. Y. 424; 48 Minn. 555.

What is Gift Enterprise?
A definition of gift enterprise is: A scheme for the division or distribution of articles to be determined by chance amongst those who have taken shares in the scheme. More details on the Encyclopedia. A sporting artifice by which, for example, a merchant or tradesman sells his wares for their market value, but, by way of inducement, gives to such purchaser a ticket which entitles him to a chance to win certain prizes to be determined after the manner of a lottery.[1]
