G8 African Action Plan in Global Commerce Policy

In this regard, g8 african action plan is: adopted by the G8 summit at Kananaskis, Canada, on 27 June 2002. The entries on trade policy are here. It seeks to support the implementation of the New Partnership for Africa ™s Development. Chapter III on fostering trade, investment, economic growth and sustainable development is aimed at (a) helping Africa to attract investment from African and other countries and implementing policies conducive to economic growth, (b) facilitating capacity-building and the transfer of expertise for the development of infrastructure projects, (c) providing greater market access for Africa, (d) increasing the funding and improving the quality of support for trade- related technical assistance and capacity-building in Africa, (e) supporting African efforts to advance regional economic integration and intra-African trade, and (f) improving the effectiveness of official development assistance. Other chapters with a mainly economic focus deal with implementing debt relief, expanding knowledge and digital opportunities, and increasing agricultural productivity.[1]
