Meaning of Examiners
Persons appointed by law to examine into any matter of fact, to determine the advisability of action by public authorities pursuant to law. Thus, in many states there are examiners in law and medical examiners, to determine the qualifications of applicants for license to practice these professions; examiners of banks, charged with inspection to determine the solvency of banking institutions, etc.
