Definition of Etiological Factors

The Canada social science dictionary [1] provides the following meaning of Etiological Factors: Those factors that encourage or cause a particular outcome, for example addiction to hard drugs is a factor that can lead people into prostitution or criminal behaviour; being raised in a violent home is a factor that can lead to violent behaviour or being victimized by violence.
