Meaning of Eleemosynary

Relating to or devoted to charity, alms, or almsgiving; given in charity or alms; having the nature of alms. Hamburger v Cornell University, 166 N. Y.S. 46; Thus an eleemosynary corporation is a private charity constituted for the perpetual distribution of alms and bounty of the founder or for religious purposes with no profit motive . See Bianchi v Southpark Presbyterian church , 8 A.2d 567, 124 A.L.R. 808.
