Eco-duties
Eco-duties in Global Commerce Policy
In this regard, eco-duties is: proposed levies on imported products to compensate for a perceived unfair competitive advantage arising to producers operating under less stringent, and therefore less expensive, environmental standards for industry. This is a contentious concept which has considerable potential to be misused as a protectionist device. See also eco-dumping and trade and environment.[1]
