Meaning of Duchy court of lancaster
A court of special jurisdiction in England, held before the chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster, or his deputy, concerning all matter of equity relating to lands holden of the king in right of the duchy of Lancaster. 3 Bl. Comm. 78; 3 Steph. Comm. 446. The proceedings in this court are the same as on the equity side in the courts of exchequer and chancery. Id.
