Driving-Test Order

English Legal System: Driving-Test Order

In the context of the English law, A Dictionary of Law provides the following legal concept of Driving-Test Order : An order by the court that a person who has been convicted of an offence that is subject to *disqualification should be disqualified from driving until he passes a test showing that he is fit to drive. The order should only be made where there is reason to suspect that the person is not fit to drive; for example, because he is very old or unwell, and has shown evidence of incompetence in his driving. It is not meant as a punishment but to protect the public.
