Cultural Ecology
Definition of Cultural Ecology
The Canada social science dictionary [1] provides the following meaning of Cultural Ecology: the study of the interaction between culture and environment. Culture is viewed in the context of the surrounding social and physical environment and the effects of culture on environment and of environment on culture can then be studied. A central assumption of this perspective is the idea that cultures in similar environments will share many characteristics.
