The Canada social science dictionary [1] provides the following meaning of Crown Corporation: A corporate organization established by government, but having a separate legal and organizational identity from the government itself. Crown corporations have been established in a wide variety of social and economic sectors including transportation, mining and manufacture, communication and financial services. Canada has relied heavily on crown corporations, especially as a means of stimulating economic development and meeting communications and cultural objectives.
