Concept of “Curia, Cur, Cour “

Traditional meaning of cour in the French law history (with some legal use in England and the United States in the XIX Century) [1]: (in French) Court. Curia advisari vult: the court wishes to deliberate. Curia admiralitatis: the court of admiralty. Curia baronis or baronum: the court baron. Curia christianitatis: the ecclesiastical court. Curia comitatus: the county court. Curia cancellariae est officina justitiae: the court of chancery is the workshop of justice. Curia domini: the lord’s court. Curia magna (the great court): Parliament. Curia majoris: the mayor’s court. Curia Palatii: the Palace Court. Curia pedis pulverizati: Piedpoudre court; see the entry on types of courts, 36.
