(Lat. from concurrere). In the civil law. A running together; a meeting or concurrence. Concursus creditorum, the conflict or conflicting rights of creditors, in relation to their liens, privileges, and priorities, in cases of insolvency and other cases. Story, Confl. Laws, 325c, 433a.

The following is a definition of Concursus, produced by Tetley, in the context of admiralty law: The rule that after a shipowner’s limitation fund (see this maritime law term in this legal dictionary) has been duly constituted, other legal proceedings in respect of the casualty concerned must be stayed and all claims resulting from the casualty must be filed against the limitation fund and disposed of in a single “limitation proceeding”.
