Meaning of Commonalty
The common people of England, as distinguished from the king and nobles. The body of a society or corporation, as distinguished from the officers. 1 Per. & D. 243. Charters of incorporation of the various tradesmen’s societies, etc., in England are usually granted to the master, wardens, and commonalty of such corporation.
